Studio Practice: Dinosaurs 5×4 Workshop

In this workshop we were grouped together in fours and were tasked with composing an image and using the 5×4 to create the Scheimpflug Principle. The Scheimpflug Principle is a when the film plane, the lens plane and subject plane all converge on a common line creating the maximum cone of focus. We weren’t asked to take an image but all of us had to have a go at creating The Scheimpflug effect in the camera. This was an interesting workshop because once we had got the basic focus it was hard to fine tune the focus on all of the dinosaurs. This workshop was important if you were considering using the Scheimpflug principle in your 5×4 shoot.
